IN A NUTSHELL

this blog is a blog of my life: the things i do, the places i go, the people i meet. it is a blog of me in a nutshell. what better way to start, then, than by doing just that: squishing and squashing all that makes me me into an itty bitty nutsell...or, at least one teeny tiny post. so here goes it.

this is me:

blonde hair that's not naturally that blonde.
green eyes that people always seem to mistake for blue or for gray.
& fair skin that blushes at the first sign of chagrin and tans only in the month of july.

although my driver's license and birth certificate refer to me as allison, my first name is alli.
my middle name is a mixture of maralyn & arelene, my two grandmother's names.
& reinhardt, my surname, means "pure of heart" in german.

i go to point loma nazarene university, even though i'm not nazarene.
i am majoring in english literature and thinking about a minor in communcation.
& i hope to become an english teacher, to encourage and enlighten high school students.

my myers-briggs PERSONALITY type is I.S.T.J. (introversion, sensing, thinking, judgement).
i think that says a lot about WHO I AM and how interact with THE WORLD around me.
& not to mention how wonderfully IT FITS inside this itty bitty nusthsell that is me.

there's plenty more to me than all this, of course, just as there's more to the seeds that sit inside their shells. they're not just seeds, but the base of something bigger—trees, flowers, life. these trivial facts are the foundation of who i am, where i'm at in my life, and the goals i am looking forward to achieving. as this blog goes on, i hope to break out of this nutshell, and share with you the quirks and convictions that make me something, someone bigger. i plan on setting roots, sprouting limbs, and blossoming bouquets.
